Leopold Jucker, born in Lachowice in todays Poland worked as a watchmanufacturer and moved to Magdeburg, where he opened a store for watches and goldware.He lived with his parents in Reichwaldau,
todays Rychvald in czech republic, before he came to Magdeburg.
He married Rosa Katz, who came from Nieheim to Magdeburg with her parents. Leopold and Rosa lived together with her parents in Tauentzienstraße 1 and had a son named Harald in 1933. Harald later
attended the Jewish school in Magdeburg, as Jewish children had been excluded from attending general schools since 1938.
Because of the jewish origin of the family, they’ve been deported to Warsaw Ghetto on April 14, 1942 and later were murdered in Treblinka. Leopold Jucker, Rosa Jucker and their son Harald became
victims to the Holocaust, after being deported from Magdeburg. The family was persecuted and murdered because of their jewish origin.
